GenealogyInTime Magazine has released the 2015 list of the Top 100 Genealogy Websites from around the world. The list is the end product of an extensive and exhaustive evaluation of thousands of genealogy websites. It is the most comprehensive list available on the genealogy industry.
Geneanet ranks #6 (Geneanet was ranked #7 last year).
And Geneanet ranks #3 in the Top 10 Free Genealogy Websites of 2015.
GenealogyInTime Magazine says: “Geneanet moved up one position to number 6. It is the top French genealogy website and it specializes in family trees. Over the years, we have seen Geneanet slowly move up the rankings from the number 9 position in 2012 to where it is today. It continues to grow in popularity, having 2 million members and some 600,000 family trees.”
We thank all of our members for their support, and we will continue to develop tools and services to help you in your genealogy research.

Geneanet answers every and each member’s message in the forum. Geneanet only blocks fake accounts and spammers. I’m pretty sure we didn’t block your account. Can you please give your Geneanet username or your email address so I can have a look to your account?

A tree of one of your premium members contains most if not all of my family including living persons. The links between our families are highly dubious and while I know there is little to be done to put this to rights I do not believe living persons that I am definitely related to should be exposed on this site.

Hi!
Before this episode after leaving Premium custormership, I considered Geneanet better than the other international Genealogy Websites, because of common European values. Now I am disappointed and leave these sites because of lack of privacy, no proper answers and finally someone in Geneanet blocking my account. Why, there is no reason for that. Please give your explanation to my e-mail address.
Do you in Geneanet consider this message below the reason for blocking my messages? Geneanet let not send it to Forum and no other ways was not to send it, no ways to discussion. Forum Rules in Finnish “Voit kritisoida asioita mutta et henkilöitä./ You can criticize facts but not people.”

Rather confusing, why the terms on privacy are in two places?
Sekavaa, miksi yksityisyysvalinnat ovat kahdessa kohdassa?

Onko mielestänne tämä ratkaisu looginen ja helppo tapa löytää jäsenille oma mieluisin valintansa?
Do you think this solution is logical and easy way for members to find their own best choice?

For a long time our family was lookimg our father/GrandFather all over France, but it was no any result(. The 13-th of April 2016 I once again put my GrandFather’s name into Google line search and this system at the same moment gave me the name of my GrandFather at Geneanet site and his full Family Tree. I found not only the information but my far relatives – it is a miracle. thanks to developers of this website for creation of such program which helps not only to French, but also people from other countries to find the family and to have an opportunity to receive data on their life)

Researching my ancestor Alexander L. Greer, born 1804 in County Down, his brother Thomas, and his sister Esther. An autobiographical sketch by ALG stated that his father died in 1814, and his mother emigrated with her six children to the U.S. in 1817, settling in Covington, Kentucky.

I am working on a Sullivan/ OSullivan family Tree. My records span from early 1700 to pres. I hope to collect many new relatives as I roll along. Tks for the opportunity!

I just joined Geneanet but, I am very satisfied with what I am seeing in the site. I am so excited to start my overseas research on the various Alsatian lines that make up my husband’s family !

I’ve started a separate Desart Family database (all European) compiled from records available on Geneanet. Fabulous records available. Some day I might be able to connect with my USA based 2,000 member Desart Family. Thanks for you efforts.

Vastly better than any of the widely promoted \”genealogy\” websites in the United States (e.g., Ancestry.com, etc.) The one USA-based exception is the geneaology website run by the Mormon Church.

Please unsubscribe me, too. Thank you.
