Merge Duplicate Individuals In Your GeneaNet Family Tree
When merging a GEDCOM file to your GeneaNet family tree, you may generate duplicate individuals. You can easily merge these individuals without losing any events, family links, pictures and archival records.
As usual, we suggest that you make a backup (export a GEDCOM file) before merging individuals.
Go to the page of one of the individuals to be merged, then click 'Individual > Edit' in the drop-down list at the top right of the screen.

Click 'Individual > Edit' in the drop-down list at the top right of the screen.

Then, click the 'Merge' link.

And select the other individual to be merged in the list or enter its full name, then click 'OK'.

Easy to merge one person....how can an entire duplicate tree be merged?
When you merge a person, their ancestry is automatically merged. But if there are multiple duplicate persons in both trees, you must manually merge all of the duplicates.
I actually tried this but my merges did not work.
Oh Mercy!!!.....There must be some other way...what about a tree with multiple thousands of names? Perhaps we should remove our tree, use some outside programe that will auto-merge, then resubmit. I hear you mimitabby, to many variables if you dont have complete info on a number of individuals. Too easy to make what ends up being, complicated mistakes.
@Karan: Which software can auto-merge duplicates?
