South Africa - Historical Gravesites Refurbished After Being Vandalised
The gravesites of those who perished in concentration camps, during the South African War of 1899 to 1901, have been desecrated. The Heritage Council has, however stepped in to repair these graves. Gravesites at 70 cemeteries across the country are being restored.Grave stones are knocked over, damaged or vandalized although it is not a lost cause. At the President Brand cemetery in Bloemfontein, 30 grave stones have already been restored.
