It was September 5, 1915, and as Australian soldiers fought on the beaches of Gallipoli, thousands of kilometres away in South Australia - cocooned from the bloodshed - Delellis Marguerite Reid put pen to paper."I am sending you a few wildflowers just in remembrance of our Dear Sunny Australia," wrote the Orroroo 12-year-old in a letter to a Canadian penpal, Mabel.
