Hitler Family Gravestone is Removed Over Fears it Had Become a Shrine for Neo-Nazis
The gravestone of Adolf Hitler’s parents has been removed because it had become a shrine for neo-Nazis. Last year, a vase with the word unforgotten – ‘unvergessen’ – was left on the grave, with one of the letters drawn as the double lightning flashes of the Nazi leader’s dreaded SS regiments.Another visitor in 2009 hung a plaque on the grave, marked ‘120’, indicating the 120 years since Hitler was born in 1889 in the Austrian village of Braunau-am-Inn.
