Towards the end of the 19th century a branch of the Disney family was involved in the manufacture of lace in Calais or more precisely Sante-Pierre-lès-Calais, in the north of France. These Disneys were related by marriage to the Arnett, Hartshorn and Oxley families, other Anglo-French families involved in lace manufacturing in Calais. This branch of the Disney family claimed to be related to the Walt Disney family in the USA. In the 1950s or 60s a member of the Walt Disney family met with Pat Oxley in London. Can anybody throw any light on the Disney family that lived and worked in Calais?
