Veterans Cemetery Hid Dead Dog, Deer Bones, Washing Machine
The state Department of Natural Resources learned last year the grounds supervisor at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Union Grove in Racine County had been burying all manner of trash on the graveyard's grounds. The supervisor resigned in November after an investigation began.According to documents The Associated Press obtained through an open records request, the trash included a dead dog, a bag of deer bones, telephone poles, a washing machine, shingles, mattresses, steel fencing, rebar, aerosol cans, bags of personal garbage with the former grounds supervisor's address, a boat bumper and a child's bicycle helmet.
