New GeneaNet Public Online Family Tree Launched
The GeneaNet Public Online Family Tree (GeneWeb) has been improved with a new design and some new features.We hope that you will like it and that it will help in your genealogy research!

Log In & Language
You can log in to the Online Family Tree and change the language in the menu bar at the top of the screen:
Theme
GeneaNet Club Privilege members can change the background image and color, they can upload their own background image, they can change the font color of the titles, and they can create a slideshow with up to 8 personal family pictures and link these pictures to individuals in thier Online Family Tree:
Contact
Visitors can send you a message (and you can send a message to the owner of the Online Family Tree you are visiting), and you can change your picture (it can be a different picture than the one you have added in your Contact Page):
Search
There are different ways visitors can search your family tree and you can search the family tree you are visiting:

Surname List:
Update & Configure
You can update and configure your Online Family Tree (these options will not appear when someone is visiting your family tree and when you are visiting someone's family tree):
Favorite Persons
You can add some favorite persons to your Online Family Tree home page and they will be automatically linked to their page in the family tree:
Latest News
These are the latest news of the current Online Family Tree (upcoming birthdays of living persons will also be displayed):
Change Background Colour
Click the 'Paint bucket' icon at the top right of the screen to change the background colour of the Online Family Tree:
Individual Page
Archive
You can attach any Archival Record from the GeneaNet collaborative database:
Individual Matches
GeneaNet Club Privilege members can automatically search any individual in the GeneaNet Online Family Trees, Indexes and Archival Records:
Charts & Lists
Use the drop-down list at the bottom of the individual page to display and print charts & lists:

I know it's great that there's been an update but the first thing I tried on it didn't work. I typed in a "Welcome Message". When I went back, after changing the background image and color, the "Welcome Message" and the color change was gone. I'm going to try again and hope it takes.
I am still confused; how do I sign up/does it cost anything?
Just click the "Sign Up" link at the top right of the screen. Most of the GeneaNet pages and features are free.

I notice on your Sample Tree that your ancestors are "boxed in" on the chart. How do I get the names on Ancestor or Descendent chart to be boxed instead of just underlined? Thank you.
