Guide Helps Family Archivists Keep What's Important
A family history guide created by the Provincial Archives of Alberta is designed to help people figure out what's trash and what's treasure when it comes to documents and records. "People phone us and quite often want to know what to keep at home. They don't know for how long or what to keep," says Claude Roberto, a private records archivist who helped write the guide. The guide is available in English or French and is free to anyone who stops by the archives. Originally funded through a grant from the Francophone Secretariat of the Alberta government, additional money for the guide also came from the provincial archives.
