History Buffs Uncover Makeshift WWII Time Capsule in Ruffs Dale, Pennsylvania
There had long been rumors that a jar containing the names of World War II veterans from Ruffs Dale, Westmoreland County, was buried in a church yard. The urban legend has turned out to be true, and Channel 4 Action News' Jennifer Miele reported that the find made by a pair of history buffs will be used to restore a memorial in town.Local barber Ken Colbert and his buddy, Tom Pezzano, dug up a time capsule this week that had been made from PVC pipe and buried under a headstone in the yard of a defunct church. Inside were the name plates.
