Library and Archives Canada is evaluating a new digitization technology that provides 3D images of items from our collection. The image presented here is the Victoria Cross medal awarded to Sergeant-Major Arthur Herbert Lindsay Richardson during the South African War. The Victoria Cross is the highest military decoration conferred, awarded for bravery and devotion to duty while facing hostile forces.
