Abraham Lincoln’s Civil War Autograph Sells Online, Priced $12,000

Freeman’s Fine Books, Manuscripts & Ephemera auction begins later today (May 27) in Philadelphia, featuring many notable items from the Stevenson-Easby collection.

Among them is the first American pocket atlas, and nearly 30 years of the diaries of a prominent Philadelphia gentleman of the 19th century.

Other highlights include many letters and works relating to Mathew Carey (1760-1839), the Irish-born publisher, economist and close associate of Benjamin Franklin and US President John Adams.
