Sartre’s Gravestone Mystery Solved

A marble plaque from French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre’s grave has turned up in Colombia after having gone missing 30 years ago.

The plaque disappeared from Sartre’s grave in the Parisian graveyard Montparnasse shortly after his death in 1980.

Valencia’s relatives want to auction the 20×30-centimetre marble stone, which has broken into 4 pieces, and give the proceeds to a fund for Colombian poets.
