Mormon Leader To Bring Family Records To Obama

President Obama Monday is hosting the leader of the Mormon church at the White House, who will present the president with detailed volumes of Mr. Obama’s family history.

Press aides said Latter-Day Saints Church President Thomas Monson and Elder Dallin Oaks, chairman of the LDS Church genealogical committee, will be there. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat and a Mormon, arranged the meeting and also will attend.

“LDS Church leadership has met with previous presidents and presented them with genealogical records detailing their family history,” White House aides said.
