Searching your ancestors in the GeneaNet collaborative database: 2-The Contact Page
By selecting a GeneaNet user in the search results list, you will be redirected to its Contact Page.
The first screen of the Contact Page gives information about the user family tree:
This gives you the link to the list of all the individuals in the family tree that fit to the search you made.
Index: This is the number of indexed data (see Searching your ancestors in the GeneaNet collaborative database: 1-The Index). Depending on the distribution of the persons in the family tree (surnames, places), there could be more individuals.
Documents: Every GeneaNet user can upload and share some documents for free (see the documents collection). This could be any parish register, will, census, etc. The documents can be associated with any individual in the family tree.
Postcards: Every GeneaNet user can upload and share some postcards for free (see the postcards collection).
Pictures: Every GeneaNet user can upload and share some pictures for free (see the pictures collection). The pictures can be associated with any individual in the family tree.
Registers: Every GeneaNet user can upload and share some registers for free (see the registers collection).
Every GeneaNet user can enter its own file description. It usually gives a list of surnames and places.
Most Popular Surnames
This is an automatic surnames tag cloud. Note that every user can manually add or remove any surname in the tag cloud.
The second screen of the Contact Page gives details of the user:
The GeneaNet username is the only information that identifies any user.
Name / Location
Note that the address can be hidden by the user.
Language / Other Languages
Shows user mother tongue and other languages spoken.
The Contact Page creates an image file from the user email address to guard it from spam harvesters.
Shows date of last update of the user family tree.
In addition to the GeneaNet online family tree, every user can own a personal website!
