Update both your data and your tree at once !
Thousands indexed their genealogical information on GeneaNet. Most of you, chose to put their tree on-line using GeneWeb...
You may have noticed, when searching the database, the index is not always referred to the tree on-line, then one gets an error message like: family name not found : xxx !
This is often caused by the data not having been transferred at the same time than the tree.
To prevent it, there are 2 ways of updating your data on GeneaNet depending on how GeneaNet is used :
Should you have entered your data on GeneaNet only, use the function fast transmission on your GeneaNet or GEDCOM file, via the option My GeneaNet index in the listed items My GeneaNet data to update your index.

- Should you hold a tree GeneWeb, we suggest to use the function transmission / updating your data via the option My tree online in the listed items My GeneaNet data. This function allows to index automatically your data on the database GeneaNet.

Transfering updated data to your tree on-line is immediate, i.e. data appears on your tree as soon as entered. But your updated data is not shown immediadly on the GeneaNet results of your searches page, as one needs to wait on average about 10 days for the next updating of the database.
