GeneaNet calculates the number of search results

You are numerous to ask on the amount of search results and are often surprised to see the number of search result on the first page, increasing or decreasing as you go on from one page to another.
The explanation given in the FAQ of GeneaNet, deserves to be reminded here.

With more than 120 million data today in the index of GeneaNet, showing the exact number of results responding to your search would need several minutes before showing on the page. Also, and in order to give you an answer as soon as possible, GeneaNet calculates this amount on a small scale of the database then extrapolates the result found compared to the whole of the base. If for example, 8 results correspond to your research in the first 10 % of the base, GeneaNet extrapolates and posts you "there are APPROXIMATELY 80 results answering your research" the term APPROXIMATELY takes all its significance here since it is indeed a estimation!
As you consult the results pages, GeneaNet can refine this estimation so, after a few pages, it posts the exact result of information answering your research.

Whatever the final number of result or the number of posted pages, be assured that all the answers corresponding to your research appear (within the limit of 500 or 1000 results according to your membership or not of the Privilege Club).
