The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding 9 has been released.
New & Improved:
• Look and Feel: Most page elements have been restyled for a more modern appearance.
• Templates: Three new templates have been added, and several of the older ones have been updated.
• Speed: The introduction of "image sprites" and other techniques should allow most pages to load significantly faster.
• Sharing: Social media icons will now allow visitors to your site to more easily "spread the word" (can be deactivated).
• Timeline: Several improvements to this page will make it an interesting destination for each person in your database.
• Google Maps: TNG is now using the latest Google maps engine (API 3). A developer key is no longer required.
• Geocoding: New places are now automatically geocoded with latitude and longitude info, and existing places can be geocoded in large batches.
• Rich Editing: Histories and other elements can now be composed in an inline "WYSIWYG" content editor.
• Media Sorting: New tools make it easier to organize your images and other media.
• Citations: Sources can now be created from the same screen where you cite them, and a "Copy Last" button allows you to easily re-cite the source you used most recently.
• Living & Private: New user rights allow you to distinguish access rights to these two groups of people.
• Mod Manager: Several upgrades make it a more intuitive process to add or remove third-party customizations.

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding 8.1.3 has been released.
Fixes:
• Associations: Deleting a tree did not delete the associations linked to that tree.
• Branches: The Delete option under Labeling was letting you submit the form without entering a Person ID.
• Calendar: The Calendar page was not displaying the right people if the visiting user was assigned to a tree.
• Cemeteries: Sending a non-numeric cemetery ID to the showmap.php page was causing it to return all non-headstone media.
• Dates: Dates were not being properly internalized if they contained slashes and had less than 4 digits in the year.
• Descendancy: The standard chart would not display properly if both parents in a family with children had the same gender.
• Merge: Merging people was not causing Associations linked to those people to also be merged.
• And many other fixes.

• On descendants pages, when the number of generations was limited, the last generation was listed twice.
• The person links in the xml sitemaps were not correct (they redirected to the correct links though, but Google likes to have the correct links).

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding 8.1.2 has been released.
Changes:
• Albums: Albums linked to places sometimes did not show correctly on the Place page (fixed).
• Albums: If an album did not have a default photo, it would cause an error on the page of any individual it was linked to (fixed).
• Albums: Thumbnails were not showing if any person linked to those photos were marked as "private", even if the visitor had rights to see them (fixed).

• Searches on surnames or places, linked from the tree statistics, are now filtered on this tree.
• When a person’s gender is unknown, the ‘U’ code is now used, and the gender field is now a required field for persons.
• An event’s value is shown before the event’s date and place.
• Family box added for edit family and delete family pages.
• When adding a new record, the chosen tree is stored in a cookie and preselected for the next new record.
• Dates without a year, but with a day and/or month are now stored as ‘0000-00-00′, to prevent problems with calculations.
• Database port can be set to a non default value during installation.
• Deleting tree process can be paused when the execution time limit is reached.
• If a gedcom import fails, the gedcom file line number where the error occurred is returned.
• Optimizing tables (after importing a gedcom or deleting a tree) is done via cronjobs.
• Resetting cache and privacy flags (after importing a gedcom or deleting a tree) is done via cronjobs.

• Ahnentafel/Register: Some strings including special characters were being displayed incorrectly under UTF• 8 (fixed).
• Albums: When adding media to an album, the image thumbnail was displayed with a fixed, smaller size (fixed).
• Albums: If more than one page of albums existed under Admin/Albums, subsequent pages were unreachable (fixed).
• Citations: New citations could not be added on systems running the latest version of MySQL (fixed).
