New Software: MobileTree For iPhone And iPod Touch

MobileTree 1.0 has been released.

With MobileTree, FamilySearch customers can access their FamilySearch data directly on their iPhone or iPod Touch!

MobileTree has completed all of the requirements communicated by the FamilySearch organization and has been certified as an approved access application.

Customers may use MobileTree to research content around their family tree including details to identify:

• An individual ancestor. What events are recorded for this individual including birth, death and burial?
• A family record. Can you identify an ancestor's siblings? Who is the youngest child; who lived the longest? Where are they buried?
• Your pedigree record. Use MobileTree to see an ancestor's parents, and grandparents using existing and available content.

MobileTree is available on the iPhone AppStore for $4.99 (3,99 €).

• Now display submitter information in the GEDCOM file info view.
• Speed improvements to the index.
• New history feature keeps a list of all persons visited in the tree.

• Several bug fixes that improve the stability of the application.

Changes:

• More fixes for accented characters.
• User Reference are now displayed for individuals and families.
• _UID is now supported to help when merging GEDCOM files back into your desktop application.
• Gender now displayed with a coloured globe.
• Individuals will not appear multiple times if they have multiple birth/death events.
• Settings added under the main settings on your device.
• Section order on details and family pages can now be changed.
• The prefix for about dates can be changed from ABT to c (for circa), this requires a fresh import.

GedWise Unicode 8.3

GedWise Unicode 8.3 has been released.

This is the Unicode version of GedWise.

In order to use this version, your genealogy software must be able to export a GEDCOM file using the Unicode-16 character set. This version of GedWise will not work with any other encoding. It does not support ASCII nor Ansel. The only difference between GedWise version 8.3 and GedWise version 7.3 is that version 8.3 supports the Unicode character set. There is no other difference.

• Device: Disallow editing or deletion of To Do's for FTM Add-on import.
