• The cover sheet of the card index remained empty when using the SBDRefRaster driver as PDF Reference Raster. The large resolution was not taken into account correctly. The bug has been fixed.

• If in the Treeview Options dialog, Automatc Width/Height tab, aim Width/height ratio of the graphic, the checkbox Use settings from Printer Page was not checked and an arbitrary values has been entered for the Set Width/Height Ratio, this value could be changed to the value from the Printer Page by performing a Printer Setup or by canceling the dialog. This bug has been fixed.
• In the version 6.4.0.0, an attempt to start the program once again in a second instance led to a Windows error message Runtime Error xxx. There was no remedy for it. This bug has been fixed.
• In the Treeview Options dialog, Profiles tab, the profile name Default Settings for New Treeviews was misinterpretative. The correct name is Default Settings for New Family Files/Imported Gedcom Files. The name will has been corrected.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.4.0.0 has been released.

Changes:

• At the GEDCOM import, objects of the type Photo, which have another format than bitmap or JPEG file, are imported as documents of the type Image. This change was not reported in the conversion log, even if the Log Contents and Level of Detail was set to 3 or higher. This bug has been fixed.
• At the Combination of Multiple Trees, under very rare conditions the function Snap Free Image Object to Grid could fail. This bug has been fixed.
• Selecting a child in the Personal Data dialog, Partners and Children tab, could cause an integrity error under certain conditions. This bug has been fixed.
• Moving boxes manually can cause clearing the box column to the right and new dimensioning of the whole graphic. In this case the Graphic Margin Right has been set to a minimum value, even if a larger value has been set in the Treeview Options. This bug has been fixed.
• The disturbed behavior of simple message dialogs with buttons like Yes/No/Cancel under Windows Vista and Windows 7 has been corrected.
• The function Export Records As Text File now leads to a dialog to configure the export widely. In the export dialog included persons and data fields as well as the separating character can be selected.

• Using the program without a license (demo mode) and printing on multiple pages, a Range error could occur. After licensing this error did not occur anymore. This bug has been fixed.
• At the loading of Profiles of Treeview Options, which contain an output language other than English, the setting of this output language could fail. This bug has been fixed.
• The new function Edit Surname, Place and Religion Lists... in the Personal Data menu allows centralized management of all data of surnames, places and religions. Using this function, changes of spelling is very easy for all occurrences of such data.
• In the Card Index Export Options dialog a new additional option allows document files to be linked externally and not to be attached to the PDF file. The external links can be saved with absolute or relative paths or without paths.
• The window for error messages (e. g. of the integrity check) can now be sized. So even very long messages can be shown inside the window. However, a hint is still shown, if the mouse points to a line containing a cropped text.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.1.6 has been released.

Changes:

• Fixed bug: Under very rare conditions, errors could occur in Ancestor Trees including siblings: The connection line at the primary person could be missing and/or siblings order was not chronological. The connection line could be shown after moving the box of the primary person manually. These bugs has been fixed.
• At the import of Gedcom files now backslashes are not removed any more, but replaced by normal slashes. The backslashes have a special function program-internally and therefore can not be imported. The substitution by normal slashes keeps for example the information in file paths.
• If with a not licensed program a treeview is printed, a warning appears now regarding the output of the word DEMO. With that expensive misprints can be avoided.
• JPEG image files with the extension *.jpeg are accepted now just the same way as files with the extension *.jpg.
• The Free Geo Objects are offering Closed Curves now, too. Closed curves are Beziér curves which form a closed shape. The included area can be filled with color.
• Free Geo Objects are defined by points. Till now, the number of points was not restricted, however, now being limited because of technical reasons regarding the new Closed Curves. The new limit is 1000 points. Free Geo Objects with more than 1000 points are not output; a message points to it.
• Numerous small improvements and corrections.

• Fixed bug: In the not licensed demo version a Range ckeck error could occur when printing about several pages. The bug does not appear any more.
• For a better distinction of different program editions the additions Premium and Basic are used. The Premium edition has the full scope of features. The Basic edition, which may be offered by PC magazines for example, has only a restricted scope of features. The installed edition is mentioned in the title bar of the main window, for example FamilyTreeFactory 6 Premium. In addition it is found if you call the Program Info function in the Help/Info menu.
• In the Treeview Options dialog, Graphic Content tab, a slider Contrast for changing the contrast of the background image has been added.
• In the Personal Data dialog, Personal Data tab, the entry field Religion has been changed to a dropdown list. This list offers, by analogy with those for surname and maiden name, all religion data already occurring. With that an uniform notation is made easier in all records.
• The integrity check now is reporting any date which is in the future. At the comparison of a date with the watch of the computer, one day is granted as a waiting period to avoid problems with different time zones: For example at night at 2 o'clock Australian time an Australian could send a family file to Europe, where the date of the day before is still valid.
• Now automatic program updates from the Internet can only be called by licensed programs. Users, who wants to test the program for a long period without a license, can check on the Internet whether there is a newer version available. If any, the new setup can be installed directly over a previously installed older version.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.1.4 has been released.

Changes:

• Fixed bug: At the creation of treeviews Grandparents' Descendant Tree and Great-grandparents' Descendant Tree, under certain circumstances the calculation of the numbers of partnerships and children of the mother and the four grandparents of the primary person was not correct. In case of partners both with multiple partnerships, incorrect numbers could avoid the confirmation request, for which partner all partnerships should be shown.
• Fixed bug: At the creation of treeviews Relatives Tree, over descendant trees, which do not start actually at the oldest generation of the relatives tree, empty person boxes were shown up to the oldest generation.
• Fixed bug: At the loading of the Treeview Options profile [ Factory Default Settings ] and following saving of the profile as default settings for new treeviews, the normal Treeview Options have been saved, but not the default settings for Free Text, Image and Geo Objects, Column/Row Numbers, Duplicate Connection Lines and Person Indexes. This resulted for example in the color black for all duplicate connection lines.
• Fixed bug: At the automatic creation of duplicate connection lines, under certain seldom conditions a Range Check Error could occur.

• Fixed bug: Under Windows Vista and Windows 7 a message "The program might not have installed correctly" could appear after installing and after uninstalling the program.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.1.2 has been released.

Changes:

• Fixed bug: A saved telepfone number was not displayed in the Personal Data dialog, Contact tab. Instead a perhaps saved country was displayed in the data field of the telephone number. Saving the telephone number was not involved in this bug.
• The functions Search and Replace of the Import Pre-processor and of the Export Post-processor of the GEDCOM Converter can manage multiple lines now. For line breaks the characters \n are used.
• In the Import Pre-processor and in the Export Post-processor of the Gedcom Converter variable data can now be managed using a data placeholder (characters \*). Complex changes are possible including shifting data between lines in a tag combination. In the manual the sections Import-Pre-processor and Export Post-processor demonstrate the usage of data placeholders in examples.
• While loading a treeview file, that is not linked to the current family file, now the error message mentions the names of all involved files. By this the message is better to understand.
• The maximum count of godparents per person and witnesses per marriage increased from 5 to 9.
• Relatives trees could include not more than 625 descendant trees till now. This limit was increased to its square 390625.
• The function Restore Gedcom Options to Factory Default Settings in the Tools menu has been removed. Instead the GEDCOM Options dialog now contains a button for this function.
• The function Restore Program Options to Factory Default Settings in the Tools menu has been removed. Instead the Program Options dialog now contains a button for this function.

FamilyTree Painter 1.0.2 has been released on 23 September 2009 but I just heard about this new software.

Changes:

• With new version it is not anymore necessary to upload GEDCOM family data to server. However it is still possible.
• The application can now be started using "Try" link on front page or with "Launch" link on "My family trees" page. If you are not logged in and you are using "Try" link on front page, the "SPECIMEN" text is printed to all family tree pages.
• If you are using the "Try" or "Launch" links for starting the application, there is now also "Open" button which you can use to open GEDCOM file which is on your own computer.
