Changes:

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.1.1 has been released.

Changes:

• Fixed bug: At unequal box heights, the child connection lines from partner connection lines were not drawn completely.
• Fixed bug: If in the Edit Free Geo Objects dialog the last available object was deleted, after a click on one of the buttons OK or Apply an access violation was reported. After quitting the message you could only cancel.
• Now a window with a vertical scrollbar is used to show the results of the integrity check so that very long lists are also readable completely.
• For extending and reducing the zoom factor now not only the plus/minus buttons in the number block but also those in the letter block of the keyboard can be used. This is helpful at notebook computers without number block.
• The Edit Free Text Objects und Edit Free Image Objects dialogs were made more clear by use of tabs.
• At GEDCOM Import, two identical MARR tags without type detail are interpreted as civil and religious marriage data.
• There is a new GEDCOM Import Option: 'Civil' and 'religious' marriage data... should be swapped. Using this option, problems can be solved if double marriage data were coded into two identical MARR tags without type detail.
• There is a new GEDCOM Import Option: The content of a "2 NPFX" tag... should be inserted before the surname.
• Some small improvements and corrections.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.1.0 has been released.

Changes:

• Fixed bug: At the PDF export of file cards the primary photo is output above on the right, more photos are output at the end of the file card. The additional photos were output on a new page although enough space for a row with photos was available on the current page.
• Fixed bug: If for Relatives Trees a Person Index was created, it could happen under certain conditions that a person appeared repeatedly in the person index.
• Fixed bug: Free Image Objects with EMF or JPEG files with trees exported before offer the functions Free Image Object in Original Size and Snap Free Image Object to Grid in the context menu. These functions only worked when the image files were saved directly in the Main Directory for Image Files, not in a subdirectory.
• Fixed bug: At the Gedcom import of references to image files (OBJE tags and OBJE records) a difference between the file extension and the FORM tag was written to the log although no FORM tag exists.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.2.0.0 has been released.

Changes:

• The position of person indexes output directly could be wrong if the horizontal or vertical box distances exceeded considerably the measures of the Free Text Objects with column/row numbers lying on the outside. In such cases the person index could overlap the Free Text Objects. The bug has been corrected.
• At the output of sources in person boxes the headers were output in English even if another output language was selected. The bug has been corrected.
• The content of the data field Title can now be output in front of the names. The adjustment is performed in the Treeview Options dialog, Box Content tab, Output Personal Data list.
• With the new option Occupation date should be read from "1 OCCU/2 DATE" tags you can turn on and off the import of occupation dates. The adjustment is performed in the GEDCOM Options dialog, Import Options tab, Handling of Special Gedcom Tags and Data list.
• At the GEDCOM import of Swiss Civil Rights Municipalities using the method User-defined Attribute now the content of a perhaps present 2 PLAC tag will be added to the content of the 1 EVEN tag. No adjustment required.
• At the GEDCOM import of SOUR records now NOTE tags are read as Comments and added to the Sources data field.
• While loading and saving Gedcom options files and Treeview options files the used directories are saved now. These directories are used for the next function call.
• The automatic search für program updates is turned off at the first installation. The user will be asked in a nonrecurring message dialog, whether this feature should be activated. Furthermore the adjustment in the Program Options remains possible.
• The licensing was extended by a method with serial numbers for a retail box version.
• Some small improvements and corrections.

• Kith and Kin Pro 3 compatibility release.
• TreeDraw now imports data from Kith and Kin Pro V3 databases and GEDCOM files only. Kith and Kin Pro V1 and V2 are not supported.

Changes:

• While creating a new treeview, under certain conditions a Range check error could occur. The conditions depended on the position of the mouse pointer inside the treeview. The confirmation of the error message using the mouse could force the same error again, leading to an endless loop. The bug has been corrected.
• The adjustment of the Main directory for image files has been moved from the Treeview Options dialog to the Program Options dialog, new Directories tab.
• Saving of file and directory names in different files of the FamilyTreeFactory is no longer performed with absolute paths, but now with relative paths. Together with moving the adjustment of the main directory for image files from the Treeview Options to the Program Options, now moving files to another location or synchronizing two computers is very easy. Details can be found in the appendix of the manual in the section The FamilyTreeFactory Files.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.1.0.0

FamilyTreeFactory 6.1.0.0 has been released.

Changes:

• If in the Treeview Options dialog, Box Font tab, the symbol character Christian Cross (Alt+0134) from an Unicode font has been selected, the program froze and could only be exited by the task manager. This happened, because the code 0134 is valid only for Ansi and keyboard input, while the Unicode code is 8224. However, the dropdown lists for the symbols can show only characters up to code 255; the display of all Unicode characters would not be manageable. The bug has been corrected.
• At the Gedcom export of witnesses with the coding User-defined Tag with Names of Witnesses (Top left) a witness entry created once was also written into the following family records if for these records no real witnesses were available. The bug has been corrected.
• The progress indicator has been moved to the status bar of the main window and in some cases to dialogs. Now the status bar is shown permanently. The program option to hide the status bar has been removed.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.3

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.3 has been released.

Changes:

• At extreme big family files the integrity check sporadically failed. The bug has been corrected. The correction of this serious bug causes the publication of version 6.0.1.3 only two weeks after version 6.0.1.2.
• The export of a card index caused a program crash if the name of the PDF file did already exist and if the file was shown currently in the PDF reader. The bug has been corrected.
• While exporting a card index, in the line of death data the word deceased was missing if the output of death data in person boxes has been deactivated. The bug has been corrected.
• On file cards the birth/baptism and death/burial data of relatives were output in the FamilyTreeFactory date saving format, not in the date format of person boxes selected in the Treeview Options. The bug has been corrected.
• In person boxes multiple numbers (ancestor ore descendant number, record number, ID code) can be output in one single line now; hereby space can be saved. The option can be found in the Treeview Options, Box Content tab, Output Personal Data list, Special Format Options.
• On file cards now the reached age can optionally be output behind the data of death if it could be calculated from the personal data. An activated protection of data privacy will be taken into account. The option can be found in the Export Card Index As PDF File dialog.
• On file cards the marriage ages of the married couple can optionally be output behind the marriage data if they could be calculated from the personal data. An activated protection of data privacy will be taken into account. The option can be found in the Export Card Index As PDF File dialog.
• Arbitrary other files can be attached to PDF files now. The attached files are embedded in the PDF file and can be saved with a suitable PDF reader out of the opened PDF file. So comprehensive archive PDF files can be created by exporting graphics with integrated card index and attached family files and/or GEDCOM files.
• The manual now includes the sections FAQ - Frequently asked questions and General tips which were available only in the forum till now.
• Some small improvements and corrections.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.2

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.2 has been released.

Changes:

• If text was entered in the Occupation, Note and Sources data fields in the Personal Data of a Group dialog, every word was in a new line. The bug has been corrected.
• In the Create Relatives Tree dialog the max. number of generations for searching for ancestors of the primary person could be adjusted only to 50. However, the program can process up to 60 generations. The bug has been corrected.
• While creating a Free Geo Object Background in ancestor trees with siblings these siblings have not been included in the background contour. The bug has been corrected.
• On file cards, which contain only the records of the currently shown treeview, the protection of data privacy was not taken into account correctly under certain conditions. The bug has been corrected.
• In person boxes and on file cards the marriage data were output at person-based protection of data privacy if the protection of data privacy of the person in question permitted this. The protection of data privacy of the spouse was not taken into account although the same marriage data also applied to her or him. The bug has been corrected.

Legacy Charting 7.0.120

Legacy Charting 7.0.120 has been released.

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.1

FamilyTreeFactory 6.0.1.1 has been released.

Changes:

• Free Placeable Text and Image Objects located above the actual tree and overlapping a person box caused an overlapping warning message during output, even though they did not have a shadow. The bug has been corrected.
• Under certain conditions the automatic program update function could not find the installation directory of the FamilyTreeFactory. In those cases the user was prompted to select the installation folder. The lack has been corrected. However, the improvement will be effective first when updating from version 6.0.1.1 to a higher version.
• Now the updater program has a digital signature of the author of the FamilyTreeFactory.
• Now automatic saving of the Gedcom import log at deactivated converter dialog can be switched on/off by the checkbox Save the log along with the GEDCOM file in the GEDCOM Options dialog, Import Options tab, Log Contents and Level of Detail area.
• In the Editor for Free Text Objects multiple text variables can be selected from a dropdown list and insertet in the text entry field. All defined text variables and their functions are described in the manual in the section Edit Free Text Objects, Editor for Free Text Objects.
• After drawing a rectangle with the left mouse button (Ctrl key pressed) now special Free Text Objects Graphic Title and Symbol Key can be created. These Text Objects can be used instead of the automatically created and positioned graphic titles and symbol key, which are defined in the Treeview Options. These Text Objects can also be placed outside the area of person boxes in expanded graphic margins. The Text Object Graphic Title uses text variables and can be edited in the Editor for Free Text Objects. The Text Object Symbol Key cannot be edited due to internal specialty.
• In the output language file editor with the new function Duplicate language an existing language can be copied under a new name to a new column.
• Now in the personal data dialog, multiple lines data fields Occupation and Note, so-called output language tags can be used to assign sections to a certain output language. Different texts for different output languages can be saved side by side in a single data field. In person boxes and on file cards only one section will be output according to the output language currently selected in the Program Options. Regarding the GEDCOM export, in the GEDCOM Export Options the data to be exported can be selected. Details are described in the new section Usage of Output Language Tags.
• Some small improvements and corrections.
